Joe Craven & The Sometimers

Joe Craven & The Sometimers featuring Bruce MacMillan and Jonathan Stoyanoff, is a tight, crisp string-centric “Free Range Folkasaurus Trio” offering a “no genre left behind” policy of music making and re-creating. In addition to the trio, we now work with drummer Barry Eldridge, in celebration of our upcoming sophomore release “GARCIA SONGBOOK”. A 30 year veteran in the biz, Joe comes impressively credentialed (David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, David Lindley, Alison Brown, Howard Levy, Rob Ickes + many others) and The Sometimers all firmly grip their poetic license to operate heavy machinery. Their power tool box includes both upright and electric bass, various guitars, Dobro, lap steel, mandolin, octave mandolin, fiddle, percussion, drum kit, jawbone, more cowbell and who knows what else. Touring their debut release, “Blender”, this NorCal roots music combo celebrates a new kind of POP music, as in “Pursuit of Possibility” music. Give ’em a listen and you just might do a little dance while you’re at it! About the boys in the band… Multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven is an award-winning creativity educator, former museum curator, actor, music festival emcee, Director of RiverTunes and Vocáli Voice Camps, a Co-Director for the Wintergrass Youth Academy and a fashion insultant. Joe Craven’s love of performing music has put him in many musical genres and alongside many musicians, from Jerry Garcia, David Lindley, Howard Levy, to Jason Marsalis and banjoist Alison Brown. For 17 years, he was percussionist / violinist for mandolinist David Grisman. Under his own label, Blender Logic Arts, he has recorded and performed his wide variety of roots music projects. Joe also enjoys a fine reputation for his unique emcee work at music festivals and other art events for 20 years.

Stephen Inglis & David Gans

David Gans and Stephen Inglis have teamed up for a refreshing acoustic duo take on the music of the Grateful Dead. Hawaiian slack key and much more.

We are musical children of the Grateful Dead; this means we are fans of a formidable book of original songs, devotees of collective improvisation, and strong believers in live performance. We compose our own music, we interpret songs from a great variety of musical sources, and we allow our performances to construct themselves to the greatest extent possible. We believe in the art of musical conversation, and we conduct that discourse in our own voices as opposed to mimicking the styles and sounds of others.

Fragile Thunder is a collaboration among friends who share a love for this great American musical form.
We have performed in various pairings in recent years, and we are setting out to create a new and unique acoustic take on the music of the Dead.

Achilles Wheel

Achilles Wheel is a California based rock and roll band that blurs the lines between genres and fuses an infectious blend of Roots and World Music Rockadelia.

Their sound comes across as both Old School and New School and is riddled with great songwriting. The one thing that rises to the surface as you get to know this band is that supporting the benefit of our human condition is foremost in their work. They play hard as a way to break down walls and celebrate life. The idealism that they embraced as younger men has not diminished in the harsh light of the modern world as we struggle to live freely and have a good time, and in the end, hopefully matter. Achilles Wheel fearlessly sings out to these times.

Birds of Fortune

BIRDS OF FORTUNE
featuring Sean Lehe (Jelly Bread, Izabella), Derek Brooker (formerly of Tracorum), John Morales (Dad’s LP’s, 10 Mile Tide), Jeff Coleman (Poor Man’s Whiskey, Uncle Harlen’s Band), and Sam Phelps (Izabella, Drunken Kung Fu).

This band churns out what is at once, a raw and refined take on classic rock and roll. Old tunes sound new, and new tunes sound like you’ve heard them on the airwaves for as long as you can remember. Dual lead guitar lines weave in and out of a dense rhythm section, some sweet harmonies to bring you back home after a big jam. Familiar and comfortable, while also daring and exploratory. Dance floor friendly, but certainly not afraid to fly!

The Vintage Find

In 2016 a group of guys got together to play some music at Chris Matthews house in Orangevale, California. They had no real plan, just a jam and see where it went. “It” became The Vintage Find and two years later with a full set list of original tunes, and a few tasty covers, they’re playing in some major festivals and many of the best Sacramento area venues like the popular Gaslight and Power House Pub in Folsom. They have become a must-see Americana act.

Chris MatthewsKen Burnett, and Mark Siefert all contribute well-crafted songs to make up a set list of all “A” side tunes. And with long-time journeyman drummer, Chris Amato, bassman, Jim Fox, and pedal steel wizard, Jonathon Jimmerson, this band is complete. Go to their shows and you’ll understand immediately why they are starting to get serious attention. It gets you in the arms first, then the legs, and soon your whole body will be dancing with everyone else.
